Cube Solver Lab solves Rubik's Cubes from 2×2 to 15×15, the Pyraminx and the Skewb directly in your browser. Enter your scrambled puzzle by painting a net, scanning it with your camera or typing the scramble, press Solve and follow the solution on an animated 3D model. A permutation graph shows how every sticker travels along its orbit.
How to use the solver
- Choose your puzzle in the menu at the top: 2×2 to 15×15, Pyraminx or Skewb.
- Enter the scrambled state: paint the stickers on the net, scan every face with your camera or upload photos, or type the scramble in standard notation.
- Press Solve. The solver runs inside your browser; nothing is uploaded.
- Follow the solution: the 3D model turns step by step while the permutation graph shows every sticker moving. In Free play mode you can scramble and turn the puzzle yourself, with a timer.
What the permutation graph shows
Every sticker is a node and every move is a permutation of the stickers. The permutation splits into cycles, drawn as circles, so the graph shows the structure of the puzzle: which stickers can reach which places. A solution is a path through the puzzle's state graph from your scramble to the solved state, and the graph animates that path move by move.
Frequently asked questions
Which puzzles are supported?
Cubes from 2×2 to 15×15, the Pyraminx and the Skewb. Each one has its own page with notation and measured move counts.
Is the solver free, and are my photos uploaded?
It is free and runs entirely in your browser. Camera images and photos are processed on your device and never uploaded.
Is the solution the shortest possible?
2×2, Pyraminx and Skewb solutions are proven optimal. 3×3 solutions are near-optimal (usually 19–21 moves). From 4×4 up the solvers use reduction methods, so solutions are longer but are found in seconds.
Can I scan my cube with the camera?
Yes, for cubes from 2×2 to 15×15: show each face to the camera or upload photos, then check the colors on the net. The Pyraminx and Skewb are entered by painting.
